For those with children at Saint Maur International School, come along to an informal talk by Caroline Pover, guest speaker at the Parent Support Group’s October coffee morning. Caroline will share stories of her adventures in Japan, and talk about the inspiration behind her forthcoming series of books for Japanese women. Copies of Caroline’s latest book, the Guide to International Schools in Japan, will be available for signing. Contact the PSG to come along to this light and entertaining morning!

“Overcoming Adversity to Survive and Prosper”
EA-Tokyo’s October speaker, Caroline Pover will speak on the scaling up and down of her business activities and how to handle a business when the unexpected occurs based on her personal experience in overcoming health issues to write the Guide to International Schools in Japan.

In 2006, Caroline suffered a series of strokes and underwent heart surgery. During her recovery, she went back to her first passion, education, and drawing upon her experience completed and published the first ever comprehensive guide to international schools throughout Japan. Still just in her thirties, the book is a testament to her ability to overcome health and business adversity and to prosper.

Mon 12th Oct: Caroline’s seminar on writing and publishing - Nagoya
Caroline Pover’s popular seminar based on her adventures in writing and publishing books and magazines in Japan will provide information and inspiration to any budding authors, editors, journalists, publishers, or entrepreneurs. She will touch on all areas of publishing both books and magazines, including developing written material, working with illustrators or photographers, contacting publishers, finding a good editor, layout and design considerations, cover design concepts, printers, storage, financing, marketing, and distribution. This seminar will help authors learn how to market their own work and find out about how the secrets of self-published authors can help their book become more successful. Participants should come prepared with lots of questions — there will be plenty of time to ask them and to address issues unique to your own project. The fee is 5,000 yen, and payable before the event. Places are limited so please reserve quickly by emailing nancy@carolinepover.com stating you prefer to pay by Paypal or bank transfer. Members of Nagoya International School’s PTA are invited to an informal morning with other parents. Caroline will speak about her adventures in Japan, including the creation of her books, Being A Broad in Japan, and the Guide to International Schools in Japan. Having interviewed hundreds of foreign women, Caroline will offer advice to those accompanying partners, on how to make the most out of their time in Japan.
